The Maui Police Department increased the death toll from the Aug. 8 wildfire to 100 on Tuesday, while also identifying another victim of the fire as 78-year-old Sharlene Rabang of Lahaina.
Rabang was the 99th victim to be publicly identified by police, leaving one more individual to be identified.
MPD could not be immediately reached for comment Tuesday evening on the increased death toll but told the Associated Press that the latest victim had been flown to Oahu after the Aug. 8 wildfire.
The department also said it would no longer be issuing daily updates on the identities and statistics of wildfire victims and that news releases will be issued when there are further updates.
